From my pile of new books. . .

Ohmygosh! Sorry to act all teenager on you but omg! I just read possibly my new favorite book, even better than the Twilight Saga. Or maybe they're tied. Ha!

The book is called Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. For Christmas, i got a ton of books and I'm done with 2 of them. Grace, got attacked by a wolf pack when she was about 12 or 11 years old. The one wolf that saved her has been attached and always watching her for the next 6 years. When a boy at Grace's school gets attacked by the wolves and dies, everyone in their small town wants to hunt down the pack, except for Grace and one of her best friends, Olivia. Once one of the wolves get shot, Grace goes back to her house only to find a naked boy on her back porch with a gun wound. Grace then realises that it's her wolf, only now he's Sam. Realising that Sam may not be able to be human again once he turns back into a wolf, Grace and Sam try to fulfill their time together while they still have it. Sam changes when it's cold, and winter is just around the corner. Once i started reading Shiver, i literally couldn't put it down. I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning just to read the last few chapters.

My other book i received for the holidays, is a book called Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. I have to say it wasn't as good as Shiver or a lot of my other favorite books, but it was a pleasurable read, still. I'm gonna get a little lazy and type up the description of the book on the cover. (I do not want to get in trouble so I'm saying this now: I DID NOT WRITE THIS!)

Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. with his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgement.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those who have fallen-and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

See, when i read books, if i like them, i finish the book completely and sometimes go back to my favorite parts. If i don't like a book, i normally stop reading them because i forget i was still reading it. I finished Hush, Hush in one day. I finished Shiver in two days. I really liked both books and i would still recommend both to anyone that is interested. :) See you later. I have books to read!! :)

Oh wow...

I have to be the worst blogger in history. Seriously, i haven't written another post since August. Wow. Well, that's probably because i haven't had a lot of time to read with school and everything finally kicking in.

Hmm... let's see shall we? I just got done reading one of my all time favorite book series. Have you heard of Secrets of My Hollywood Life?? I'm literally addicted to these books. Every night now, i read all of the romance between Adam and Kaitlin. *Swoon.* Seriously, if i ever found a guy like that i may die. Basically, it's about a young actress/Hollywood "it" girl looking for a normal life. . . well, semi-normal life. She goes to a public school with her best friend, Liz, as an alternate identity. She's no longer the girl everyone knows and loves on TV, but is being normal really what Kaitlin can handle? I adore this series and if I weren't trying to sort through my increasing number of book piles, i may have forgotten about them, sadly.

Another super great read would have to be Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. It's so eye-opening and really makes you think plus I admire her writing style and voice throughout the whole book. An eighteen year old girl, Lia, is starving herself. Her best friend, Cassie, recently died from bulimia. Lia thinks she's fat, worthless, and basically nothing. All she wants to be is skinny and watch those numbers on the scale fall while her family is all fooled. After i was done reading the book, i was scared. All my life, i have had body image issues. I can't even tell you how many times i thought crash diets and these harmful eating disorders. I can't make myself gag, and i hate the thought of never having warm chocolate ooze down my throat. I'm weak, but I'm glad that i am. Girls all over the world are harming their bodies and trying to be what everyone today calls "perfect". I realised only a couple years ago i am perfect in my own way. I don't want to be like everyone else and think that skinny is the only "perfect". The book makes you think. I recommend it to anyone i know looking for a good book and possibly a lifestyle change.

Happy Christmas Eve/Holidays,

Just read.....

I just read this one book called Evermore, i think, and to tell you the truth, it reminded me a lot of the Twilight saga. Like it's weird i know but it did. I'm gonna read the next one pretty soon and i'm not sure if im in love with it but it seems pretty good. I really like how she can see aura's and read people's thoughts and see her dead sister and stuff but i'm not sure if i like the storyline too much but then again i do... I'm being weird today, maybe it's best if you dont listen to me right now. Alrighty then... Erm, Bye? :P

Oi!

In case you were wondering about my title, my new word is oi! :) I dont really know why, but it is haha. So every now and then, when i get bored talking to my parents, i'll just say "Oi!" for the fun of it. Hehe.

I guess i'll start off by talking about the recent books i've read.

A couple of days ago i read the book, Rebel Angels, which is the sequel to A Great and Terrible Beauty. So far i have not read the third book, A Sweet Far Thing, but i'm waiting for it to arrive at the library. Although im not sure i'll be able to read it by the time i get it at the library since im going on vacation in a couple of days.

So the genre of the books are fantasy. I really like the books and especially all their twists and turns, but for me, fantasy and sci-fi can be hard to follow along with the story. The good thing though is that these books are semi-easy to follow along. Another thing is that they're set in the 1800's. I LOOOOVE historic-y books because its so different from the modern day. Not to mention, they are also filled with romance. ;) I definitely would rate these books a 9/10. If you would like to learn more about the books, i would go to Libba Bray's website (the author) or your choice bookstore/library.

I've also just finished Violet by Design. It's also a sequel but its to Violet on the Runway. The next book is Violet in Private which i have yet to read. So these are a LOT more girly books than the A Great and Terrible Beauty series. They are very girly and full of fashion and drama. Mostly, i like girly books because of the romance but im also in love with fashion so this book had both which made me not even want to put it down. I guess that makes me a girly girl but the truth is, im more of a tomboy but you wouldnt know that when you hear the types of books i read or the way i talk. Trust me, i know Txt Talk. So the books really have a personality but not much of a story line. It's just a different life i guess. Again, check out the author's website for more info.

Okay, I've let this go on for a lot longer than i wanted it to be so it must sound suuuuuuperr boring. HAHA. I have to go and try on some looks for registration tomorrow, since we have to take our yearbook pictures then. EEEEEP!!! SCHOOL!! God, this summer went by tooo fast!! And we're squeezing in our vacation by the time school starts. Im excited for that though! Well anyways, Ciao!

Um HI!

So I've never had a blog before. And i feel like no one is going to read this but I'm going to do it anyways. Another note is that I'm not the best writer in the world so please don't comment "OMG you forgot to add a comma!", because i will only say "Thank you Grammar Police!".

In case you didn't realize from my title, I LOVE BOOKS! Of course, I'm telling you now that i do not read ALL kinds of books. A lot of them are girly. What can i say? I'm watching America's Next Top Model at the moment. Sometimes though, i read fantasy, gothic, or mystery. I also like comedy and series and... who am i kidding?! I love all kinds of books!! :) But i don't necessarily find all of those type books that entertain me... If that makes sense...

So i guess this blog is going to be about me, TheTeenBookBabe (or at least that's what I'm going to call myself), my life, and the books i read!

I will start so soon you wont even have time to miss me!! :)
